CamCard - Business card scanner & reader App Reviews

Only thing lacking is...many folks at using shiny material and portrait orientation. Neither works with the product. But most other cards in landscape are perfect.

I went from 36% battery to a dead phone in 25 minutes of using only this app. Ummm.

After update iOS to Version 9 I cant read QR code with this app. I have a couple of friend with the same problem. I have to download another app to do it.

The purpose of this application is to decipher text from the card which it doesnt do it right at all.. Too bad at recognizing text and never get it right ...so much hassle to go and edit the information and waste time ... Deleting it and will look for better available apps

If people would stop using weird fonts, it would be perfect! Ive certainly learned how not to do a business card. Only issue that I have found is how it handles name suffixes like Jr, and professional certifications and licenses. Its slightly annoying to fix, but you have to check to make sure it is correct anyhow. Can save contact info to many groups etc. it would be a good feature if I used it! Overall works better than any others I tried.

This app is great at capturing business cards and letting you fix what couldnt be detected. It automatically stores them in your contacts. The 2 problems I have with the app are 1. If you have multiple accounts of the same type, you dont know which is which, because they are listed by type and not name. I see 2 exchange accounts and 2 hotmail accounts. 2. There is no way of trading electronic cards without creating an account. Some people may want an account on some server just for contacts, not me. I should be able to present a QR code without giving some company I dont know my email address.

If you scan the backside it doesnt add those data to the card, overall each scan needs way too much correcting which takes forever. I had many international cards to scan, it never gets country codes etc right. Manually adding a card? There is no field for the address. Way to complicated than useful. You cant send / export several vcf files in one email. It just emails one vcf card, even you have selected several.

It’s ok. My need was to have a card scanner enter the data accurately to Contacts. ALL card scans (I scanned 8 cards) need manual editing. So I’m not sure it is really any faster than just typing in the info. I don’t fault the app because the cards I scanned are all different in design and visible info. I suppose if everyone used standard business cards, this would be a hit. Oh, one thing that annoys me is it tries to connect to Facebook - i assume to save contacts to my Facebook EVERY time. I DO NOT want my professional contacts saved as Facebook friends.

Great functionality for the cost & very useful!

Having read online reviews as well as reviews in the app store itself, I settled on CamCard for the low price and purported OCR power. My expectations regarding OCR (optical character recognition) may be more realistic than some who have given the app a very low rating. I give the app high marks becaus of the way it handles multiple shapes and layouts and the ease of editing. Yes, you will be editing your cards for numerous reasons, but this is much faster than entering in an entire cards worth of data. CamCard also keeps the image of the card handy so, if you miss something in an edit, its right there. CamCard is a tremendous time-saver that I wish I had had access to my whole career. I dont think anyone with reasonable expectations will be disappointed with this well-designed app with a very friendly user interface.

I tested this on four very different style cards. The number of errors negated any time savings over entering the infi myself. Quite disaapointed.

This is insane, I paid for the bundle because I thought this would be better than the other app I had, which was free! It could be better, just make me access my business cards, because it says "its loading", and its been like that for the past 2 hours when I have downloaded your app! My iphone as all the latest updates and version, so fix this or else Im scammed.

Waste of a dollar

I downloaded this app with the hope that I can export my card contacts to Excel. I have reached out to the support several times to see how to do this me not one time has there been any attempt to help answer my question. Disappointing.

The app does the basics. I like to add additional features to: 1) create contact from email signatures 2) integrate to read my current contacts list instead of working in isolation. Would give a 5 star then.

Please change the app back to where the user can take the picture after the camera focuses correctly. As it is now the automatic snapping of the cards picture leaves a blurry image with too many changes for the user to make.

What ever happened to the original design? It had a much better look and worked perfect. The current version is the worst app Ive ever seen doesnt work as good I regret updating it. My advise to those you trying to purchase this app dont waste your money.
